A PROPOS DE NICE di Jean Vigo

These tracks were composed in 2000 for Rimusicazioni Festival, as a soundtrack for A propos de Nice by Jean Vigo. They are inspired by features of French popular music and are conceived to be simple and easily performed with a limited amount of time available.
Since A propos de Nice only lasts 23 minutes, the composer thought it would be interesting to include two different soundtracks in this disc - corresponding to two different points of view. The second soundtrack, separated from the first by 10 seconds of silence, originates from a variety of samples originally composed on the computer for other purposes. Such samples were cut, edited and remixed, seeking for a harmony between sound and image.
Finally, the last two tracks follow the same idea of the first part, but they were not used in the final version of the soundtrack.

Musiche composte ed eseguite per progetti speciali, occasioni ed eventi unici, musiche eseguite soltanto una, due, tre volte. Musiche che non hanno superato la diffidenza del committente. Musiche disperse, dimenticate, bocciate, schegge di musiche, suoni di luoghi, voci di gente. Questo CD raccoglie musiche e materiali sonori ideati e realizzati tra il 1992 e il 1999. In origine è stato stampato in 30 copie tra il 24 e il 26 dicembre 1999 e regalato agli amici in occasione del passaggio di secolo.
Music that was composed and performed for special projects, occasions and unique events, music performed only once, twice, maybe three times. Music that didn't satisfy the customer. Dispersed, forgotten music that was put aside, music from different places, people's voices. This disc is a collection of music and sounds, made between 1992 and 1999. It was originally printed in 30 copies between the 24th and the 26th of December 1999 and given to friends to celebrate the coming of the new millennium.

La colonna sonora del film nasce nel 1998 per il festival Cinecamera a Est (Cingoli, Ancona). Nel 1999 il lavoro partecipa alla prima edizione dell'Harlock Rimusicazioni Festival e lo vince.

The soundtrack was composed in 1998 for the Cinecamera a Est festival (Cingoli, Ancona - Italy). In 1999 the work was presented at the first edition of the Harlock Rimusicazioni Festival and won it.

BOLZANO - DOCUMENTARI SONORI Vol. 1

Il paesaggio sonoro è legato al profilo socio-ambientale di un'area e, in quanto tale, è soggetto a mutazione e cambiamento. Con l'avvio del progetto di documentazione relativo agli ambienti sonori di Bolzano vorremmo contribuire all'attivazione di una sorta di lente d'ingrandimento e memoria acustica, in funzione di salvaguardia o almeno di conservazione documentaria, di situazioni degne d'interesse: crediamo che ciò possa favorire un'esplorazione e una comprensione del territorio di tipo nuovo oltre che il recupero e la valorizzazione di una sensibilità basata sull'ascolto.

Soundscapes are strictly connected to the social and environmental profile of an area, and as such are subject to change and evolution. With the start of this project of documentation of Bolzano's soundscapes we would like to give our contribution to the creation of some sort of magnifying lens and acoustic memory, with the aim of safeguard and preserve interesting situations: we believe that this can encourage a new kind of exploration of an area, as well as the recovery and appreciation of a new kind of awareness, based on the listening rather than on the seeing.
